Support Your Neighbors at the Community of Hope
Every dollar given to the Community of Hope stays in Leavenworth County and goes directly toward shelter operations, daily meals, and the housing navigation that helped 80 of our neighbors find a home in 2025.
Who We Serve
Our shelter, Day Center, and Welcome Central programs serve Leavenworth County residents. Demonstrating a county connection is straightforward — a prior mailing address, a pay stub from a local employer, an eviction record, a county ID, or school transcripts all qualify.
There is no sobriety requirement. No income threshold. No reservation and no waitlist for overnight shelter. The two requirements are a connection to Leavenworth County and the ability to care for yourself without assisted-living-level support.
Our community lunch is open to anyone in the Leavenworth area, regardless of housing status or county residency. Just show up.

In-Kind Donations
We accept physical donations of goods our guests and transitioning neighbors need most. Drop off accepted items at 311 Kiowa during Day Center hours.
We Gladly Accept:
- Basic clothing and shoes in all sizes
- Kitchen or household items for individuals transitioning to housing
- Hygiene Items
- Cleaning Products
- Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc.)
- Bottled Water
- Seasonal Items: bugspray, sunscreen, ponchos, hand warmers, etc.
- Wallets or purses
- Luggage or backpacks
- Belts
- Towels & washcloths
- Packaged food items or casseroles etc from commercial kitchens.

Items we are not able to use are not wasted — we redistribute them to partner organizations serving similar needs in the community. Your donation will reach someone who needs it.

Night of Hope Gala
Our annual gala brings together Leavenworth County's most committed community supporters for an evening that celebrates what this village has built together. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations that want to put their name alongside a mission that matters locally.
Coldest Night of the Year 5K
Walk or run in support of Leavenworth County's unhoused neighbors — and raise funds from your own network through peer-to-peer fundraising. You do not have to give a large personal gift to make a significant impact. Bring friends, build a team, and let your community extend ours.

Yes. The Community of Hope is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that has served Leavenworth County since 2014. In 2025, the organization ended the year in the black for the second consecutive year with zero liabilities.
